Case study: Pho Deli — a fast restaurant landing page

Pho Deli is a brand website for a restaurant. The whole page revolves around one thing: helping visitors book a table as fast as possible. Here’s how it was built to look appetizing, stay light, and be easy to find on Google.
The problem
A restaurant’s customers usually open the site on their phone — hungry and impatient. Any page that loads slowly or feels cluttered makes them leave. So the requirements were clear:
- Food photos must look appetizing without making the page heavy and sluggish.
- An easy-to-read menu with tidy section switching on small screens.
- A booking and call button always within reach, never something to hunt for.
How it was built
The site was built with React following a familiar landing-page flow: the first screen states the restaurant name and a booking button, with the menu and brand story coming below. Every image is compressed and only loads as the visitor scrolls to it, so the first screen appears almost instantly.
- Phone first: designed for small screens first, then scaled up to desktop, because most visitors are on their phones.
- Light yet sharp images: compression and modern image formats keep things appetizing without dragging down speed.
- One destination: every part of the page steers visitors toward booking.
Results
The result is a light page that displays well on any device and leads visitors straight to booking — true to the idea that good looks aren’t enough; it has to be fast and easy too.
